Tanzania is home to the finest golden yellow Scapolite known in commercial quantities, but Scapolite is also found across the border in neighboring Kenya. Yellow is the most common color, but it can also occur in purple hues! With a hardness of 5.5 to 6 and perfect cleavage, scapolites require more care when setting and wearing as jewelry.
