Ruby is the red variety of corundum (all other corundum colors are considered sapphire) that we are seeing more and more of coming out of East Africa. Rubies have been sought after since the dawn of time, as its gorgeous red hue represents romance, love, passion, and power. It has also long been associated with attributes such as beauty and wisdom. 

Ruby is the birthstone for the month of July.
